Mythili Prakash is a luminous dancer from the Los Angeles based Shakthi dance Company.
Mythili Prakash is a name to reckon with the in the world of BHARATA NATYAM- the classical dance style of South India. Hailed a child prodigy, Mythili Prakash began her career as a dance performer at the age of eight. Mythili has had her training under the renowned Bharata Natyam dancer/choreographer Viji Prakash. Now, at the age of 25, Mythili has won recognition for her exquisite interpretation of Bharata Natyam.
Mythili Prakash is awarded "Yuva Kala Bharati" by Bharat Kalachar and will be honored at the inaugural of it's December 2007-2008 Festival season on December 14, 2007.

Being born and raised in India and learning the arts and becoming somewhat good at it is difficult enough. Mythili, who was born and brought up in the US and having attended such prestigious schools as the Beverly Hills High School and the University of California, Berkeley, has mastered the art of Bharatanatyam as well as any artist of her caliber in India. Now she is here in Chennai to wow the audiences with her perfection of form and her total immersion in the culture and dance form. Her devotion to the art form and her respect of the art and other artists shows through. She is bound to reach higher and higher. We in the art world, are lucky to have Mythili present this art to us.
